Thursday, 23 July 2020, 10:46 Last update: about 6 years ago

The China Cultural Centre in Malta is supporting a project called "Online Story Club for Children Around the World Fighting Covid-19" sponsored by the Chinese Soong Ching Ling Foundation whereby children between the ages of 8 and 14 are invited to share their story of the pandemic.

Ten children from around the world will be selected and awarded honorary certificates along with the title of "Little Cultural Ambassador". In addition to this, once the pandemic subsides, they will have the opportunity to participate in the international celebrations for children held in Beijing.

To participate, submit a short video of yourself highlighting what measures your country has taken to avoid the spread of COVID-19, who your hero is and how you are contributing to the fight against the pandemic. Participants must also send a script between 500 to 800 words of their speech and must fill out an application form that can be downloaded from the following link (http://www.scl.org.cn/upfiles/file/2020/6/20200706192043941.doc). The video, script and application form must be sent by email to [email protected] with [email protected] in copy by the 30th of July 2020. The subject line of the email should follow the form of "country-school-name-title".

This project aims to establish a platform for children from around the world to open up about their experience of the pandemic and give them courage to face any challenges that may accompany a pandemic.
