Nothing has changed over the past five months, Miriam Pace's daughter, Ivana Portelli, posted on Facebook.

She was reacting to the tragedy that occurred on Thursday, where a workman died after a wall collapsed on him in Cospicua.

Portelli, whose mother passed away in the Hamrun tragedy earlier this year, said that she is saddened by the news of the incident, and expressed her sympathy with the victim and his family.

"Unfortunately I am not surprised that another casualty has occurred. It clearly shows that nothing has changed over the past five months to fix the situation, but rather only the fear of the Maltese citizens has increased."

"Nice words fill you with courage for the first few weeks, but if nothing changes, those first words aren't worth a penny."

She said that she wishes that the tragedy that befell her family results in change so that other families do not go through what her family has.

"While we asked many times for a public inquiry, this fell on deaf ears, and this is why such things repeat themselves as we never learn, and we don't want to learn. It is clear that there is something wrong with the system, and that there needs to be a neutral process for these failures to be identified".
