Two men were taken to court for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm, and were accused with aiming to commit a crime.
One of the men is 30-years-old from Mqabba and the other 63 from Kirkop. The 30-year-old pleaded guilty and was given a nine month prison sentence suspended for 18 months. He is under a probation order.
The 63-year-old pleaded guilty and was charged to pay an €800 fine. The prosecution was led by Inspector Melvyn Camilleri and the Magistrate was Natasha Galea Sciberras.
