All ASA activities will be held behind closed doors with immediate effect, the Aquatic Association said today.

This is in accordance with the Guidelines for Return to Sport as part of the COVID-19 Transition in Malta Version 2.0 dated 03/06/2000 and in particular as specified in the General Principles – Mandatory Conditions for Sports Activities – Venue Management.

The use of changing rooms and shower facilities is not recommended and should be discouraged. Athletes should therefore shower at home, the ASA said.

Whilst we understand that this news is not the most welcome to all those who follow our sports, it is nonetheless our responsibility to follow the directives issued by the health authorities especially considering the situation which has developed over the last two weeks.

The association said it looks forward to the COVID-19 spread being controlled in the weeks ahead with a view to hopefully welcoming supporters in the latter part of our competitions.
