EasyJet cancels package holidays to Malta

Saturday, 15 August 2020, 11:55 Last update: about 5 years ago

Since the British Foreign Office has imposed a mandatory 14-day quarantine period for all those travelling from Malta to the UK due to the rise in coronavirus infections, EasyJet has taken the decision to cancel package holidays until the end of August.

According to International media, a spokesperson from the British airline said that “we heard the news from the government on Malta, France and the Netherlands being added to the travel quarantine list and the FCO advice changing to all but essential travel for these countries at the same time as everyone else.”

The statement goes on to highlight that the customers affected by this decision will be processed full refunds as quickly as possible. Holidays to Malta, along with France and the Netherlands will be cancelled until the end of August and then the situation will be reviewed once more.

“Despite another late-night announcement, we were able to contact our affected customers very soon afterwards to let them know we have cancelled their holiday and will be processing full refunds as quickly as possible.”

Any travellers arriving from Malta after 4am on Saturday will be required to quarantine for 14 days.
