Hamrun Spartans suspend training sessions after match official tests positive for COVID-19

Football Club Hamrun Spartans has suspended its training sessions until the coming Wednesday after a match official who attended a friendly game tested positive for COVID-19.

This was announced in a post on the club’s Facebook page in which it explained to it supporters that an official who had been part of the officiating team in a friendly match on Friday tested positive for COVID-19.

The friendly match was against Zejtun Corinthians, where the latter emerged 2-0 winners.

As a precautionary measure, the club said that it is suspending all training sessions until Wednesday, whilst all dressing rooms are fumigated.

Furthermore, all players and technical staff are being submitted for tests in the coming hours.

The club added that, after almost 72 hours from the game, none of its players and members of the technical staff reported any symptoms.
