Neptunes and San Giljan both scored easy wins on Wednesday to maintain their perfect record since the start of the season. The two sides will now face each other on Saturday at the end of this phase of the Premier League to establish which club goes into the final round of the competition as leaders.
Neptunes had the better of Sliema with a 14-4 score, a result that amply indicates the superiority expressed by the Balluta Bay side against their arch-rivals.
Neptunes were disciplined right from the start, making it extremely hard for Sliema to penetrate their tight defence and then breaking off with rapid counter-attacks. Neptunes opened up a 4-0 lead in the first session and almost doubled it up to an 8-1 score by the midway break.
There was little to add to the remaining part of the game as Neptunes remained in full control to complete a staggering 14-4 score.
San Giljan also had it easy against Sirens, immediately opening up a 4-1 lead after the first session and pulling further away to 10-1 halfway through.
The saints remained in control till the end, giving some time in the water to their younger players.
