Sirens are through to the semifinals where they now face San Giljan, after beating Exiles in the third and final play-off.
The third match against Exiles ended in a 6-6 draw, and had to be decided by penalties.
Yesterday’s match was as usual keenly contested between these two sides who always produced exciting matches when they met.
Exiles had a great start taking a three-goal lead, but Sirens recovered in the remaining sessions to lock the game at 6-6 and go to penalties.
Sirens were sharper on penalties to move on to face mighty San Giljan who start as hot favourites for a place in the final.
The other matches played yesterday were the first leg playoffs of the First Division League, with Marsaskala winning the first against ta’ Xbiex in another keenly contested match, and in the other match Marsaxlokk were too strong for Gozitan side Otters winning by a ten-goal margin.
