Afraid of Covid? Silvio Parnis has a roly poly for you

Politicians seek different ways to get through to their constituents and seek their votes.

One of them is offering them small gifts as a token, in the hope that they will remember them when casting their preferences at election time.

The parliamentary secretary responsible for the elderly, Silvio Parnis, has come up with an idea at a time when there is so much concern about the spread of Coronavirus in elderly people’s homes.

He has presented them with a roly poly – and has made it known to them that he was the one behind the gift.

“Kuragg” (Have courage) is written in large letters on the plastic covering, and then of course there is the name of the donor.

Well, it seems that Parnis thinks that a roly poly can go a long way to alleviate fears of contracting the virus. But his gesture has been by and large criticised on the social media.
