Coronavirus: 38 new cases, 34 recover; 15 added to St Joseph Home cluster

Thirty-eight new Coronavirus cases were recorded on Tuesday, while 34 patients have recovered, health authorities said.

In all, the number of cases edges up again to 678, getting closer to the record 699 active cases we had on 20 August.

There have been 2,814 cases in Malta, with 23 deaths, more than half of them in the past month.

The 34 recoveries recorded Tuesday bring the total to 2,113.

The number of swab tests carried out on Monday was 2,409, for a toral of 235,640.

No details were provided about today's cases.

With regard to the 45 cases reported on Monday, 15 of them were from the St Joseph home cluster.

Eight other cases were family members of previously known cases, one was a direct contact of another positive case, two were of work colleagues of previously known cases, two from social gatherings and three related to the entertainment industry.
