27 new cases of Covid-19 found overnight as Malta exceeds 3,000 cases

27 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight as Malta’s total number of cases of Covid-19 exceeded 3,000, health authorities said on Monday.

41 new recoveries were also registered, meaning that the number of active cases is down to 575.

2,302 swab tests were done in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 249,656.

Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, however gave details about the cases found yesterday.

Out of the 21 cases found on Sunday, 4 were family members of previously known cases, 3 were from the St. Joseph Home, and another 2 were direct contacts of other positive cases.

Malta has now had a total of 3,006 cases of the virus. 2,302 of those have recovered, while 32 have died.
