37 new cases of Covid-19 found overnight, 43 new recoveries registered

37 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, health authorities said in their daily update on Thursday.

43 new recoveries meanwhile were also registered. This means that the number of active cases has dropped slightly to 455 cases.

2,574 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 256,557 so far.

Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details about the cases reported on Wednesday.

Out of the 23 cases reported on Wednesday, 3 were direct contacts of other positive cases, 3 were from the St. Joseph Home cluster, 2 were related to social gatherings with other positive caes, and another was a contact of a positive work colleague.

The total number of cases in Malta now stands at 3,095. 2,605 of those have recovered, while 35 have died.
