Thursday, 1 October 2020, 10:36 Last update: about 5 years ago

Transport Malta suffered a cyber-attack last weekend, leaving its services and systems unable to operate even now.

In a statement on Thursday, Transport Malta said that the technical problems they had reported last Sunday evening had continued to persist in spite of the Authority’s immediate action.

The technical problems were raised following a cyber-attack during the night between Friday 25 September 2020 and Saturday 26 September 2020.

The technical experts at the Authority were immediately notified and the police was also asked to assist in the matter.

A magisterial inquiry is being conducted to identify all the facts.

Transport Malta apologised for all the inconvenience caused and said that it remains committed to restoring the services back to normal as soon as possible.
