Waterpolo: San Giljan and Neptunes to meet in KO final

As expected San Giljan and Neptunes will contest the KO final next Sunday.

For Neptunes an opportunity to save the season and take sweet revenge over their neighbours, and on the other hand San Giljan will be going all out to clinch the double after claiming the title last Saturday.

It was an easy semifinal for the newly crowned champions against Sirens who were never in the game.

San Giljan confirmed all their power takin a 5-1 lead by the end of the first quarter and never losing grip of the match.

San Giljan continued to pile goals and misery over Sirens, finishing the match on a high note scoring eight goals in the fourth and final session.

The other semifinal was completely different with Neptunes given a very good run for their money by Exiles.

It was an exciting match with Neptunes only turning the tide in their favour in the last session scoring five goal in the process.

Neptunes finished the first session with a two-goal lead, a lead which they kept till the half-way mark, with the score standing at 64 by the end of the second session.

In the third session Exiles staged a remarkeable comeback, winning the thrid fraction 5-3 to finish 9-8 in the lead before the end of the final quarter.

Neptunes, who reached the semis after yet another battle with Sliema, only winning after the taking of penalties, however rose to the occassion and scored five goals with no reply in the final session to win the game 13-9 and move to the final.
