Elderly man becomes 47th Covid-19 victim in Malta

A 68-year-old man has become the 47th person to die with Covid-19 in Malta.

In a statement, the Health Ministry said that the elderly man was admitted to hospital on 27 September, and was confirmed as being positive for Covid-19 on that same day.

The man continued to receive treatment in Mater Dei’s Intensive Therapy Unit, which is where he passed away earlier on Wednesday.

The Ministry said that the man had other medical conditions.

The Ministry expressed its condolences and said people should follow directives issued by the health authorities.

18 women and 29 men have died of the virus in Malta.
