152 new cases of Covid-19 found overnight

152 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, health authorities announced in their latest daily update on the pandemic situation.

103 recoveries were also registered.  It means that the number of active cases currently stands at 2,115.

2,960 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 415,971.

Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details on the cases reported on Wednesday.

Out of the 116 reported: 23 were family members of previously known cases, 5 were contacts of positive work colleagues, 4 cases were direct contacts of other positive cases, and 2 were from social gatherings with other positive cases.

Malta has had 9,405 cases in total.  7,165 have recovered, while 125 have died.
