Pandemic led to more appreciation of the family – Bernard Grech

Thursday, 24 December 2020, 20:55 Last update: about 4 years ago

The Covid-19 pandemic had led people to appreciate their family and loved ones more, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said.

In his message for Christmas, Grech said that it is natural that people gave different opinions and are divided on certain issues. But each and every one of us looks for love, peace and dignity.

Christmas is a time which quenches the thirst for better times, and temporarily takes us away from the race for competition and, instead, embraces cooperation.
The Nationalist Party leader stressed the need for one to look for not only material success, adding that when the Maltese worked together they managed to overcome difficulties that seemed insurmountable.

He said that the year that is about to end is historical not only because of the pandemic, but also because of the changes that took place in the PN, which has undergone a leadership change and is working to be of better service to the Maltese.

He urged to people to contribute heartily in fund-raising events held on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day in aid of the needy.
