Four more Covid-19 patients pass away as death count increases to 226

Four more Covid-19 patients have passed away, taking Malta’s death count up to 226 people.

In a statement, the Health Ministry said that four elderly people had passed away while positive for Covid-19.

A 96-year-old woman who tested positive on 17 December passed away on Monday at the Good Samaritan Long-Term Care Facility.

A 71-year-old woman who tested positive for Covid-19 on 1 January passed away on Monday as well at Mater Dei Hospital.

Meanwhile, an 83-year-old man who tested positive on 26 December and an 85-year-old woman who tested positive on the same day both passed away earlier today at Mater Dei Hospital.

The Health Ministry offered its condolences to the families of the victims and urged people to remain vigilant and observe all preventive measures.
