Wednesday, 6 January 2021, 10:53 Last update: about 4 years ago

Let’s look at what the mind is shall we? The mind is memories of the past, the realization of today and the planning for tomorrow. All three of these things have the same importance and should be exercised constantly. Having said that, here are 5 tips to keep the mind as sharp as a tack

Write Down Your Memories

You may not write a best seller, but you will be surprised how things come rushing back once you put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, it all depends what makes you more comfortable. Write some poetry or song lyrics or keep a journal. It is more personal that way, yet when writing things like this, always sit at your computer and write.

Play Online Games

Another great way to keep your mind sharp is to play online games. There are many great platforms like Betting.com online where you can find various games to keep your mind engaged. Try to play tricky games. You can also keep your mind active with online casino and win various cash prizes at the same time.

Babysit Your Grandchildren

Nothing will stimulate you like looking after your grandkids. You are the most experienced parent that you know, so why not exercise that amazing gift and take on the grandkids whenever possible. The joy and love that you both give and receive will stay with you forever, again a memory and a stimulus for the mind.

Read As Much As You Can

We all know the pleasure of reading a good book, but there is more to than art of reading than just that. Pick up your local newspaper and once you have finished reading it, head to the crossword section and learn how to master that cryptic piece that has always beaten you. Crosswords are a great way to get the brain working, and the cryptic ones really gets the nerve endings firing up.

Plan for the Future

This is one of the most important things in life, and again it is a great stimulant for the mind. Remember that the future stops with you, so never stop planning for things to come. Think about that trip that you always meant to take and plan for it. It may not happen, but just the time spent thinking about it will leave you with a sense of well-being and happiness, and who couldn’t use a bit if that?

Stay Active

Exercise is vitally important for your health and wellbeing. Not just physical, but mentally as well. Go for a walk whenever possible, get the heart rate up and legs working. You will be surprised at all the little things that you will see along the way, the little things that we are all guilty of taking for granted most of the time.

The mind is a trap, and once it has something it will never lose it. Exercising the mind can be fun, not a chore, so think of these five tips, again that’s you mind working, and do which ever steps you feel will fit your lifestyle.
