Thursday, 7 January 2021, 16:18 Last update: about 4 years ago

As of Monday, people older than 85 years of age are set to start receiving their Covid-19 vaccination appointments, the health ministry said in a statement. The letters will include the place and time of both the first and the second dose.

The letters are being sent to the residents according to the addresses on their identification cards. According to their specific locality, the people will be sent to centres close to their residence.

Arrangements are also being made for people who could not leave their homes, the ministry said, with health care practitioners going to each respective person in order to administer the vaccine.

Anyone who does not receive an invitation for the vaccine by the end of next week and are 85+ are encouraged to call 145 in order for the arrangements to be made.

The Health Ministry apologises from beforehand if anyone receives an invitation for someone who is no longer alive. Family members who experience this are advised to call 145 in order to inform the authorities.
