133 new cases of Covid-19 reported, no new deaths

133 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday.

95 people meanwhile recovered from the virus, and – in what is a rare occasion – no new deaths related to the virus were registered.

This means that Malta now has 2,360 active cases – which is an increase to yet another record high.

3,355 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 546,913 so far.

Giving details about the 184 cases reported on Sunday, authorities said that: 46 were family members of previously known cases, 19 were work colleagues of positive cases, 13 were from social gatherings, and 8 were direct contacts of positive cases.

Malta has now had 14,529 cases of Covid-19.  11,936 of them have recovered while 233 have died.
