182 new cases of Covid-19 found as two more patients die

182 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Sunday, while two more patients suffering from the virus have passed away.

In their daily update, health authorities said that two people – a 78-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman – passed away at Mater Dei Hospital during the last 24 hours while positive for the virus.

It means that 267 people have now died in Malta while positive for the virus.

185 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has decreased marginally to 2,676.

2,843 swab tests were carried out on Saturday, taking the total so far up to 612,580.

Up till Saturday, 26,847 doses of the vaccine were administered.  3,456 people have received their second dose of the vaccine,

Malta has had 17,903 cases of the virus so far.  14,960 of those have recovered, while 267 have died.
