Two charged over Marsalforn fracas, remanded in custody

Two people were remanded in custody on Monday after they pleaded not guilty to a string of offences committed in Gozo on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man from Zebbug was accused of having threatened to use violence and causing slight injuries. The incident took place in Triq is-Sajjied, Marsalforn, on Sunday morning.

He was also charged with causing damage, breaching the peace and committing a crime while on probation.

The woman, also 27 and from Zebbug, was charged with causing grievous injuries, causing damage and breaching the peace during the same incident.

She was also charged of having, on 12 November 2020, committed aggravated theft. She was also charged with having received stolen items and trying to sell them.

Both pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Inspector Josef Gauci prosecuted. The court was presided over by Magistrate Brigette Sultana.
