Lent and Easter Week outdoor activities, including Good Friday processions, have been cancelled by the Church for this year.

In a statement, the Curia said that this decision was taken “with responsibility” because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

All pilgrimages, processions and manifestations during Lent, Good Friday and Easter Sunday have been cancelled.

The Church urged the faithful to pray and perform acts of charity.

It will monitor the situation and will eventually issue instructions on how the Church services during Easter Week will be celebrated.
