Konrad Mizzi has denied any link to a Dutch inmate with whom he appeared in a photo.

The Malta Independent reported earlier today that Julian Hofstra has been offered immunity in return for recordings he made of Melvin Theuma, as well as information about his alleged links to the former tourism minister.

In a statement, Mizzi’s lawyers Jean Paul Sammut and Carol Peralta said: “The article contains a false allegation of a link between Dr Mizzi and Mr Julian Hofstra. Our client declares that he does not know Mr Hofstra. While it would appear that the individual managed to have a photo of himself taken at a public event in the presence of Air Malta officials and our client, there is absolutely no connection between our client and the said individual.  Any suggestion of a link or impropriety is being strongly rejected.”
