A man was grievously injured on Saturday after falling at Xrobb l-Għaġin.

The accident took place at around 5.30pm, the police said.

An Armed Forces of Malta helicopter and patrol boat assisted in the rescue operation. The man, a 58-year-old from Zurrieq, was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

The police are investigating.
