The former Malta Gaming Authority CEO Heathcliff Farrugia has been charged after a trading in influence investigation regarding Yorgen Fenech, The Times of Malta reports.

The newspaper said that he was charged last January, but that it was kept under wraps as it could put the gaming industry in a bad light.

Farrugia had resigned from the post last October, soon after being questioned by the police over communication with Fenech.
