Two people, both aged 75, were injured after the roof of their house collapsed overnight, police said on Thursday morning.

Police said that the incident happened at around 4am in St. Paul’s Street in Sliema.

Police said the preliminary investigations showed that the roof had collapsed with the two people – a man and a woman.

Both were taken to Mater Dei Hospital and both have been certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
