The middleman in the Daphne Caruana Galizia murder has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 – the same day as when a sitting in the same case had to be cut short.
The compilation of evidence against Yorgen Fenech, who stands accused of being the mastermind of the murder, had to be cut short on Wednesday after Melvin Theuma felt unwell while testifying on the witness stand.
It has now, according to several reports, transpired that Theuma has tested positive for Covid-19.
He is being held in hospital for further observation.
Theuma was testifying in the largest courtroom in the building on Wednesday – Hall 22. It remains to be seen how this will affect proceedings in the case.
