Covid-19 death count hits the 400 mark as 65 new cases reported

Malta’s Covid-19 death count hit the 400 mark on Wednesday as 65 new cases of the virus were reported.

A 78-year-old woman became the country’s 400th victim after passing away at Mater Dei Hospital in the last 24 hours.

47 people meanwhile have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases has increased to 545.

2,210 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the number of swab tests done so far up to 824,234.

223,020 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far. 61,111 people have received both doses of the vaccine.

Malta has had 29,408 cases of the virus. 28,463 of those have recovered, and 400 have died.
