The government has plans to create an area of woodland purposely to commemorate the people who have passed away as a result of Covid-19 in Malta.
The news was announced in a tweet by Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne on the first anniversary of Malta’s first Covid-related death – a 92-year-old Gozitan woman who passed away on this day last year.
Since then, 399 more people have died while positive for the virus – with the death toll hitting the 400 mark on Wednesday.
No exact details of the proposed woodland – beyond that it will be created – have been revealed thus far.
