Covid-19: Cases go up again; 67 new patients, 38 recover; four people die

The number of Covid-19 cases has gone up again, statistics published by the health authorities show.

After the 27 registered on Friday, the number recorded on Saturday was 67, with 38 patients who recovered.

Four patients have died, taking the total of deaths to 409. The last time Malta registered four deaths in a single day was on 25 March.

Three of them died at Mater Dei Hospital. They are two men aged 77 and 79, and a woman aged 63.

The fourth victim, a 61-year-old man, died at Gozo General Hospital. He is the 10th person to die of Covid-19 in Gozo.

The total number of Covid-19 cases is edging closer to 30,000 - 29,927 cases have been recorded in Malta so far.

The number of active cases has again climbed above 600 - 608.

The health authorities said 1,808 swab tests were carried out, for a total of 844,016.

Until Friday, 269,763 vaccination doses were given, of which 82,486 were second doses.
