Four new judges sworn in

Four new judges were sworn in by President George Vella.

They are (from left) Christian Falzon Scerri, Neville Camilleri, Ian Spiteri Bailey and Audrey Demicoli.

This was the first time in Maltese judicial history that judges were appointed after a call for applications and a vetting process held by the Committee for Judicial Appointments.

A total of 29 applications were received.

Present for today’s occasion were Prime Minister Robert Abela, Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis, Chief Justice Mark Chetcuti, Attorney General Victoria Buttigieg and State Advocate Chris Soler.
