A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Monday in an accident in Santa Venera.

The accident took place on Regional Road at around 3pm, the police said.

The casualty, a 52-year-old man from Qormi, was riding a Honda motorcycle. The vehicle had an impact with a Toyota Aygo driven by a 27-year-old woman from Rabat.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
