A motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Luqa on Saturday afternoon, the police said.

The accident took place in Giuseppe Garibaldi Street at 1.35pm.

The biker, a 51-year-old man of Naxxar, was riding a Peugeot Tweet which was involved in a collision with a Hyundai Excel, driven by a 44-year-old man of Ghaxaq.

The biker was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
