Humanity is becoming so restless and unruly. Not quite in connection with this fact although it is one of the ingredients in the bitter recipe, but there was a time when observing the unfolding drama I got the feeling it is all a vicious circle. Unless we changed course there seemed to be ugly indications that we were gradually heading back into the jungle and once we get there, of course the trees will be missing, there will be nowhere to hide, no one will be safe.

That is how I reasoned then. Most tragically we are now there, living this dreadful reality. Just think of most wicked abortion, this relentless massacre of the innocents, millions of sweet little ones God creates in His image and likeness are killed and discarded with barely an afterthought. Abortion is the climax of evil. Just to realize that in many places this is committed with the law's blessing and it is not the only evil in legalized practice, of course.

For a starter, tell me that ours is not the law of the jungle. My God, and we dare call ourselves civilized!! No offence is meant towards those poor natives who still live in makeshift straw huts in yet-undeveloped pockets around the world. Because of our brutally uncivilized behaviour, very sadly and rightly so, ours has even been labelled as the infamous culture of death, by those who are conscious of the terrible reality.

In such wicked atmosphere we are even rendering education impractical if not downright impossible. How does one teach the young that which is good and not be contradictory to jungle legislation? How do you educate them for instance in so many places where again wicked abortion, this terrible, silent and worldwide holocaust of little angels has been legalized? Does one tell them "Hey listen, we are now a liberated people and hence when you grow up you are free to kill your unborn child, if you so wish, it is all legal"? Does one feed them such lethal venom, does one teach them murder?

Just think for a minute, most murders are punishable by lifetime imprisonment or even capital punishment (the latter of course I absolutely do not condone) and yet the arms of this treacherous world's justice do not reach those seated high up there who legalize this cold-blooded and heinous crime. Would you know, we are legally choosy when it comes to murder!? There are murders we prosecute with foolproof determination and there are those we simply approve of.

We, the citizens of contemporary and pretentiously civilized society, legalize murder! We have put the clock back much further beyond the age of cannibalism, we heartlessly massacre our babies and throw them away. Every single species of animal, bird, fish and insect puts us humans to very bitter shame. Abortion is wrong not because the Church is against it but the other way round. The Church is against abortion because abortion is MURDER.

If one stops and takes time to reflect, surely everyone is against murder. If ever the abortion issues is to hit our dear Malta may all stand up and be counted, particularly the legislators.
