A woman was grievously injured after she was hit by a car in Gzira on Sunday afternoon.

The police said the accident took place in Sliema Road at 6pm.

The woman, aged 33 and a resident in Gzira, was hit by a Mazda Demio driven by a 24-year-old man of Msida.

The Demio careened into a Renault Clio which was parked on the side of the road.

The woman was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
