A 50-year-old man suffered grievous injuries on Monday after he fell off a ladder.

The accident took place in Triq Joseph Stivala, in Paola, at around 11am, the police said.

The man was given first aid my paramedics and members of the Civil Protection Department.

He was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
