Today marks the first day with no new Covid-19 cases since last summer, Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne has announced.
In a tweet, Fearne said it is still essential that people remain disciplined and responsible.
The official figures for Monday will be released later on in the day.
Today also brings further easing of restrictions, with people now allowed to gather in groups of six in public, and bars reopening after many months of being shut down. Cinemas, theatres and gaming establishments also reopen today.
Up to six people can now sit down at tables in restaurants. Contact sports for over 17s also resume today.
