Shocking footage has emerged of a man being beaten in public in Bugibba on Sunday afternoon.

The video, which shows three men beating up another man who is lying on the ground. They repeatedly kick him in the chest and head, and one of the men is seen whipping the victim with what looks like a rope or chain.

At one point, one of the attackers staggers off holding his head as if injured but returns a few seconds later and savagely kicks the victim in the head as the man was trying to get up.

A fourth man looks on as the attack unfolds in front of him.

The incident took place in Triq Il-Korp Tal-Pijunieri, close to the cinema.

The police said they were notified about the fight at around 3:30pm. They said that the victim, a Ukranian national, refused to tell them what happened. He also refused medical care.

The case is being investigated.

Several other public brawls took place over the past couple of weeks, including a fight involving several people in Msida and another brawl in Marsa.
