Active cases down to 23 after one new Covid-19 case found

The number of active cases has continued to decrease after just one Covid-19 case was registered on Monday.

Five people were declared as recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 23 active cases of the virus.

No new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours for another day, meaning that the total number of deaths remains at 420.

1,480 swab tests were administered on Sunday, taking that total so far up to 966,363 so far.

Up till Sunday, 628,735 doses of the vaccine had been administered. 352,478 of those were first doses, while there are now 288,195 people who are fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 30,590 cases of the virus. 30,147 of those have recovered, while 420 have died.
