A brawl in Paceville left an 18-year-old Frenchman grievously injured in the early hours of Thursday morning, police said.

In a statement, the police said that at around 1:45am on Thursday they were called to Triq id-Dragunara in St. Julian’s over a disturbance.

Preliminary investigations found that there had been an argument between a group of youths which eventually got violent, with an 18-year-old Frenchman being assaulted by one of the group of youths.

The alleged aggressor’s identity remains unknown.

The 18-year-old was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
