A woman was grievously injured on Saturday afternoon after she was hit by a car, the police said.

The accident took place in Sleima Road, San Gwann, at 12.25pm.

The woman, a 40-year-old St Paul’s Bay resident, was hit by a Fiat driven by an Italian man, aged 32, who resides in San Gwann.

The woman was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
