25 new Covid-19 cases found as active cases shoot over 100

25 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Wednesday – the highest number of cases in two months.

With five recoveries reported and no new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the number of active cases currently stands at 110.

It is the highest number of cases found since 5 May.

2,495 swab tests were carried out on Tuesday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 1,003,842 so far.

Up till Tuesday, 692,581 doses of the vaccine had been administered.  365,611 of those are a first dose of the vaccine, while 341,765 people are fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 30,700 cases of the virus. 30,170 of those have recovered, while 420 have died.
