Biker, cyclist grievously injured in separate accidents

A biker and a cyclist were grievously injured in separate accidents that took place within minutes of each other on Tuesday evening, the police said.

At 8pm, in St Paul’s Road in Naxxar, a biker on a Honda was involved in a collision with a BMW driven by a 22 year-old man from Naxxar.

The biker, aged 24 of Iklin, was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

Fifteen minutes later, in Rue D’Argens in Gzira, a cyclist was involved in an accident with a Peugeot 108 driven by a 29-year-old man of Msida.

The cyclist, a 37-year-old Romanian man who resides in Sliema, was also taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
