A man died on Thursday evening after he was caught beneath a plough in a field in Qormi, the police said.

The accident took place in Bajjada Street at around 8pm.

The 46-year-old, who resides in Qormi, was given first assistance by a medical team but was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli is leading an inquiry.
