MUMN welcomes new measures on travelling with vaccine certificate

Saturday, 10 July 2021, 09:33 Last update: about 4 years ago

The Covid-19 vaccine is the most important tool to stop the spread of this virus and its certification is much more reliable than any PCR test, the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses said.

Therefore, MUMN welcomed the measures which were announced on Friday, banning people without a recognized vaccine certificate from entering Malta as from the 14 July.

Another courageous step mentioned during the press conference was that unvaccinated people cannot travel outside the country unless special permission is granted by the Superintendent of Public Health and would need to quarantine if such permission is granted.

Such measure is good news to all frontliners and most especially to all patients in hospitals and elderly institutions.

These measures accompanied by other measures such as banning of mass events and enforcement should be the way forward and be the new normality, the MUMN said.
