Home Minister Byron Camilleri and police commissioner Angelo Gafa’ appealed for “responsible behaviour” from football fans as tomorrow England and Italy meet in the final of the Euro 2020 championship.

It will be the first time that these two giants face each other in a final.

Malta is almost equally divided between supporters of the Three Lions and of the Azzurri.

Camilleri and Gafa, in their message, appealed for the public to enjoy the game and celebrate while respecting the other side.

They also urged for people to observe the existing regulations regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the first six months of this year, some 20,000 fines have been handed out to offenders.

The police, the Civil Protection Department and the Law Enforcement Services Agency will increase their presence on Maltese roads before, during and after the match.
