A construction worker was seriously injured after falling from a height in Mgarr.

The accident took place in Triq Fisher, at around 1130am, the police said.

The man, 50, from Sannat, Gozo, fell from a height of one a half floors.

He was assisted by a medical team and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Members of the Civil Protection Department assisted in the rescue.

Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading an inquiry.

The police are also investigating.
