146 Covid-19 cases found, as 18 patients now in hospital

146 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Monday, something of a dip in numbers when compared to recent days.

15 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, and with no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the number of active cases now stands at 1,963.

Authorities said that 18 Covid-19 positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with one of those receiving treatment in the Intensive Therapy Unit.

Out of the 195 cases reported on Sunday, 125 were aged between 10 and 39 years old, with the average age of all the cases being 29.

3,809 swab tests were carried out on Sunday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 1,045,227 so far.

Meanwhile, 724,343 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 383,867 of those being first doses – 85% of Malta’s adult population.

357,558 people are now fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 32,616 cases of the virus. 30,233 of those have recovered, while 420 have died.
